Apophis

The Boeing Apophis is a popular line of cargo transport spacecraft built by the Human corporation, Boeing. The Apophis class is fairly common, most often found around human-frequented worlds. Many traders, pirates, PMC groups, and organized-crime factions take to upgrading and modifying these vessels into combat-capable craft.

Design & Construction

The Apophis is Boeing's premier modern light cargo spacecraft. The design represents the beginnings of the transition from aerodynamics-centered design theorem in single-stage-to-orbit Human space-craft, to a more relaxed, and practical design theorem. The vessel is noted to have design influence from several species, including the Keilicaela and Ashderians. Nymerris cannons are a popular addition among the richer.

Models

CS-890

The 890 is an Einstein-Rosen-Veil-Bridge equipped model, with three internal cargo-bays and four external cargo-module hard-points. The vessel is on the lower end of the cargo-payload capability offered by the Apophis series of vessels, with emphasis on greater range and mission duration. The vessel is capable of atmospheric flight when cargo modules are not attached, or if the modules have been approved for atmospheric flight. It is commonly operated by the richer non-governmental spacefaring factions. Rex's personal spacecraft was a modified CS-890.
